The Story Behind dion's

Dion's was born from a simple dream: to create the perfect pizza for Albuquerque. What started as a single location on Coors Blvd has grown into a beloved local institution that locals call home.

Our founder, inspired by traditional Italian craftsmanship and the vibrant flavors of the Southwest, set out to create a dions experience unlike any other. Every pie is made with hand-stretched dough, house-made sauce, and the freshest ingredients New Mexico has to offer.

1978

The First Slice

Dion's opened its very first location on Coors Blvd NW in Albuquerque, NM. With a hand-tossed recipe and a dream, dion's pizza was born.

1985

Growing the Family

After overwhelming community support, dions expanded to a second Albuquerque location, bringing handcrafted pizza to more New Mexico neighborhoods.

1993

Southwest Flavors Added

We introduced our signature New Mexico green chile topping, blending dion's pizza tradition with the beloved local flavors that Albuquerque calls home.

2002

Catering Launch

Dions launched its full-service catering division, bringing the beloved dion's pizza experience to weddings, corporate events, and community gatherings across New Mexico.

2010

Digital Ordering Goes Live
